MJC Part Two
Well, for the second day of school (or so is it?)...
Found out that Times was plain rubbish. Can't even pay by EduSave.
Fuck it, man. Bastards.
So now, I'm skipping subscribing to Times. And there goes my free MP4 too.... T.T
Beforehand, had some hell lot of slack time, so my class went to a corner to play R-O-C-K and Hai-Nan-Ji-Fan-La (海南鸡饭辣).
Well, R-O-C-K was some game whereby we sit in a circle and go in rhythm (2 claps after saying something). First a guy begins with saying a category and his first item in the category. Then, the person next to him must continue by saying another item and so on and so forth. The one who failed to continue will get one 'strike'. 3 strikes will get you to make a forfeit. One guy kena-ed but lucky that for him, time was up.
The Hainan Chicken Rice game was easier. Everyone says a word of 海南鸡饭辣 in order and the 辣 word is special. For every round the above phrase is completed, the 辣 word will be added. Means to say 1 round passed, hence have to say 海-南-鸡-饭-辣-辣.
Must agree some people are retarded. Even common items also can't think up of one. Like stationery. But one got me stuck. One guy said 'Sports brand' and all those I knew were taken up. It was soon to be me and which I will 100% kena 1 strike but fortunately, the guy before me screwed up.
God save the queen. XD
Then, it was loads of slack and bullshit. Mostly about CCA stuff. Some HOD of PE gave some really retarded talk about choosing CCA and stuff like that. And the only thing exciting about the talk is some guy performing archery. That was the only thing cool.
(Although the bow looked retarded and fucked-up strange. Had some very long protruding end somewhere at the bottom of the handle of the bow...)
And so, we just slacked. Looking around for slack CCAs, walking around aimlessly, like some wandering zombie. (or like LEOW XP)
Anyway, the CCA showcase had its own benefits. We got to go home early!!!! No more rubbish!
Certainly hope that JC life could be manageable....

New days, new school, new life... in MJC
Meridian Junior College.
Let's see...
Their orientation, named Odyssey 2010, was for 3 days and begun on 1st February. Day 1 was quite hectic. Playing games outside the extremely hot, scorching sun. Dancing all about.
Kept getting me to lead a cheer. Gave me a hard-to-remember one somemore, considering that my memory was epic fail. At least they acceded to my request for hinting. ROFL.
And then the girls... All don't want lead cheer. Keep getting the guys to do it. Then a girl finally got forced to lead. And she got an easier cheer. Sigh.....
同人不同命...
Too much sun, I succumbed to illness. I suspect is heatstroke. Came back feeling sick all over, burning up with raging fever. Got myself 2 days MC.
Wow. It seemed to be a blessing in disguise. Orientation day 3 was practically a nightmare, I can really imagine that. Coming back home at 10pm +++ is definitely tiring.
Well, I had my first record of hitting a temperature of 38.1 degrees when I made a trip to a nearby clinic. It got me pretty shocked.
What I didn't understand was that why would I get runny nose when I've been cooked under the sun for fucking long?
Anyway, moral of the lesson : Exposing yourself to the sun sure helps give you vitamin D, but don't bother trying to get too much of it. The heat of the fucking sun can torment you enough, or maybe fry you nicely.
But all in all, at least I survived one day to receive my Odyssey Pack.
Contained a bandana, some Post-It notes, shoelaces, 2 shirts, some tattoos, a shoebag, a piece of cloth (a handkerchief?) and a badge.
And then, I hear some funny guy lamenting about the pack, which he alleged was 'stupid' cuz last year's batch got thumbdrive and some other blah blah blah which was far better than our bleh bleh bleh.
Better not hope too much. What if the thumbdrives had Trojan horses?
So much for vitamin D.
Anyway, after all that blah blah blah about orientation, it was finally the first day of school (not anymore if you count orientation as the first day, but most people don't).
Shiok hor?
Okay lah, not that bad. At least got loads of time to slack myself off. Pity that I had nothing to do and ended up lazing around for around 2 fucking hours cuz there were no lectures for my class.
Sometimes, things get really ironic. When we feel shack, we want slack. Then when He gives us slack, he overdoses it and ends up we don't want slack anymore. What an imbalance...
Anyway, MJC is fucking hot most of the time cuz there's not much shade inside there. So much open space to the fucking hot sun.
Anyway I feel dread for tomorrow's schedule. CCA recruitment. I'm so undecided (although I'm not in a position to comment on whether the CCA sucks cuz I'm not physically fit that will make them want me)....
Dammit lah. Maybe I just settle for some fucking slack CCA. Then slack my ass off.
Cheers to good health and a better tomorrow~!

11 January, 2010, Monday
Hi hi fans, long time no see~! (or more of talk?)
For some updates:
1. I got 9 points for my L1R5 of the O Levels. I feel sad for KT for getting 10+, but I don't know what to say to make things better. Today's the bittersweet moment...
But anyway, the first nightmare's over. Now to decide which JC to go, with a weird-cum-shitty point of 9...
2. It'll be 2 years more down the road before we see whether the Mayan prophecy was true. 2012!!! (the movie)
3. Ris Low recently named as Most Famous Person.
4. Malaysia crumbles under the argument of using the word 'Allah' in Christian publications, Muslims set fire to churches and a Christian school.
This is a terrible and cruel dilemma. The PM will either have to favour the Muslims, which dominate the population here and will bring the disfavour from minority races, or favour the Christians (basically minority races), which will result in Muslim anger.
Just to add, a substitute Malay word for God is Tuhan. But I wonder why the Christians do insist on using 'Allah'? Or maybe, Jesus was like Allah, so the Christians wanted to give Jesus a proper status?
But this is definitely for Malaysia to handle. Not mine.
Ah, life's filled with loads of things. Just that we do not listen, observe, think, feel...

Dover Park Hospice fund raising project proves a hit for wrong reasons
SINGAPORE: Charity fundraisers are common in Singapore. But an initiative to raise money to help care for the dying has highlighted a less charitable side of the nation.
The sunflower is a symbol of palliative care and Dover Park Hospice began selling them at Raffles Place on Monday to raise funds.
Those who donate S$5 can either plant a flower nearby or take it away.
But on Tuesday morning, volunteers arrived to find empty grass patches as all the 1,000 sunflowers planted the day before had been taken away.
Stefanie Yuen—Thio, chairperson, Dover Park Hospice, Fund Raising Committee, said: "Singaporeans may not have known what this was about, they may have thought it was the gerberas from the kindness movement."
There were no signs to indicate the sunflowers are part of a fundraiser, creating a moral dilemma for some.
Said one woman in the street: "If everybody is taking it, people will think that it’s free."
But discreet tags on the flowers pricked the conscience of some who had taken them.
Ms Yuen—Thio added: "When some people who had taken it and read the little tag on the card, they found that the flowers were part of a fundraising effort. They felt really bad. A lovely lady who had taken it by mistake came back and she apologised, and she made a S$40 donation."
To prevent the sunflowers from being taken again, they will be put up in the morning and removed in the evening, everyday, until the Dover Park Hospice walk on Sunday. — CNA/vm
This is an even greater issue on this day's society. What's with people getting their every chance on 'free things' even before the Singapore Kindness Movement implemented a project about giving away sunflowers to people who want to give them to people they want to thank?
After that project, there comes another one. Dover Park Hospice Care's fund-raising. But most Singaporeans are dreadfully and awfully mistaken about it. It was meant to be SOLD and NOT FREE. And people just had to take them.
It's like saying, I go to your house when you're out and nick off something just because I think is free. Isn't it outright STEALING?
I sympathise with the efforts of Dover Park Hospice Care. And I utterly HATE ugly Singaporeans. Loathe them. The failures of society. In fact, I do not think it's plain ugly. It's disgusting attitude.
I hope that for those with conscience, they could come back and make a donation. At least pay for the $5 price tag that was set for those sunflowers.
For those who have no conscience, you can go to hell and rot. End of story.
Now, things are getting about just fine. No more studies, making me aimless. All those playing making me sick too.
And I tried Left 4 Dead with Janus and Kin Tuck. I was an utter disaster. Couldn't see the gun's aim and had a hard time trying to figure out how to get along properly.
(Sorry lah, I just started mah, a beginner leh! =P)
But Left 4 Dead wasn't as creepy as I thought. Until Kin Tuck said, "Don't shoot anything lying on the floor and has red eyes. It's a Witch."
Sounded very ominous. Indeed.
Zombies. And more zombies. Argh.
Brandon invited me to watch Paranormal Activity with others, but I didn't enjoy ghost or horror movies, so sadly, I declined. But I really hoped to watch some comedy. =P
Anyway, I still feel bored. Too much free time. Maybe I could find some free time to lelong my old school stuff....

7 November, 2009, Saturday
A day after the fucked up written papers.
Celebration time, but it's not really time to forget that there are still MCQ papers yet to be finished.
Ah well, let's see...
After the Biology paper 2, I was walking to the pedestrian crossing and I saw one big bunch of people waiting for the 'Green man'. After what seemed like minutes, I was wondering how come the traffic lights did not turn red. Then, I walked further and saw that NO ONE PRESSED THE GREEN MAN BUTTON.
Bunch of over-excited idiots.
Anyway, I read loads of news and I guess some of them are far too ridiculous.
1. Malaysian politics (Note: POLITICS)
First, they start claiming territories. But they failed for the case of Pedra Branca. I pity Spratly and Ligitan islands. Now they are caught in a tussle.
Then, they start claiming food.
Hainanese Chicken Rice is Malaysian? Rubbish, it should belong to the Hainans. Otherwise why is it called HAINANESE Chicken Rice? Fools.
Then, they claim Bak Kut Teh. Fucked up.
Why couldn't the government do something more constructive, like trying to find solutions to improve their country instead of claiming loads of shit or commenting that they are soooooo much better than Singapore.
That leads me to my second point.
Malaysia is going more for the stance of favouring Muslims. I'm not saying it's wrong, but it has certainly caused discrimination and social unrest.
Look at the case of Malaysia where Malaysian protesters who did not want a Hindu temple to be built fooling around with a cow's head, which is the sacred symbol of Hinduism. So, they think they are freaking big and can go around abusing others.
People from minority races feel undermined and marginalised.
Look at Singapore. Everyone is EQUAL. No one gets special benefits. Everyone has equal opportunities to excel. No one feels left out, everyone is treated fairly.
This system is excellent as no one is favoured. I certainly do not like it when other people get priority for a job just because they are from a majority race. Life would certainly suck.
Ah well, I shall not say any more. Politics are best left alone.
Meanwhile, just for some tidbits:

JUST FOR GAGS [sic] ON MOBILE TV
Message this show gives out not funny
As a regular bus commuter, I am dismayed at the frequent broadcasting on Mobile TV of a show called Just For Gags [actually it's called JUST FOR LAUGHS : GAGS, JACK-ASS].
All too often, it features situations in which people are set up to be frightened, embarrassed or made to look ridiculous, and viewers are meant to laugh at this.
Some of the episodes, such as a post box that keeps "moving" when someone tries to post a letter in it, are funny. But others, in which the unwilling participants are shown to be frightened or in trouble, are not.
Airing such shows encourages people to see others in difficulty as a funny thing.
We are already facing issues of people not being public-spirited enough, and laughing at someone whose foot is stuck in a manhole or something like that will only make matters worse.
I also worry about the effect this has on children, because the show gives out the message that it is acceptable to laugh at people in difficulties.
1. You also find some stuff funny, so doesn't that imply you are hypocritical?
You also laugh, so that means your children will grow up laughing at people in difficulties?
2. This show won't affect children, because they will certainly be wise enough to think. Unless you say that they are all idiots.
3. The unwilling participants are not exactly in trouble. Even if you feel concerned for them, you don't necessarily have to over-react.
Furthermore, life certainly needs some form of humour. Please, this show does not cause harm to those involved. Like the old saying, "Don't like it? Don't see lor."
4. Are you public-spirited? If you are not, you have no rights to critise others. For example, are you one of those Singaporeans who do not give up their seat to the elderly? Pregnant women? People with kids?
But I sure proudly say that I do.
Afterall, all these just boils down to one message. Don't like? Then don't bother.
This is certainly making a mountain out of a molehill. Stop living in the medieval times and think so narrow-mindedly.

I cried over Social Studies paper again. What a disappointment.
I did not meet my expectations of completing my paper in time, as well as doing them properly. So much for false hopes.
Meanwhile, for the Ris Low Saga...
/-Milestones-/
1. Won the beauty pageant
2. Screwed up her English in a RazorTV interview, giving rise to the 'Boomz' epidemic.
- Sub-milestone - Got slammed by many ironic Singaporeans, but many others came to her defense
--> Horse-pee-tell-li-tee (hospitality)
--> Steel (still)
--> Preenz (prints)
--> rad (red)
--> Boomz (Booms) (!)
- Classmates started more Boomz jokes.
[ Boomz : means having a huge impact ]
3. Gained more media coverage, uncovering her past misdeeds (the credit card fraud)
- Sub-milestone - Counter-slammed Claire Lee for 'exposing' her crime, started shaming her in front of media
4. Stripped of her title, she steps down. The initial saga fades.
5. Now a new word added to the Ris Low's dickshennery of spoeken Engrish: SHINGZ~!
--> New controversy arise
- Classmates now switch to Shingz randomly
[ Shingz : means whatever, heck, fuck, etc ]
What a perfect kind of saga to induce laughter into our lives. But I do admit it's time to stop paying attention to her jokes.
(Although I still felt inclined to slap Ris Low for all her crap-talking, like Shingz for the instant...)
Anyway, had a stressful day, just hope that I won't screw up for the O Levels. Good luck everybody!

15 October, 2009, Thursday
Yesterday was a screwed up day for me.
The birthday party was funny:
1. There were no paper plates. Used cardboard torn out from the cake box.
2. I was eating duck porridge and the cake just had to coincide with my lunch.
Then:
1. Many people were either playing chess, pool or table soccer.
2. Some people kept bastarding me. So terrible.
3. I lost the mood to study.
4. Had a mental breakdown from studying stress. Cried after doing a few questions of maths from Crescent Girl's paper.
Anyway, it was still sort of memorable.
Bryan Foo's party wasn't bad, 2 days ago.
Loads of people came, I was very very surprised.
Tried to prank him ,but he was too blur to be pranked.
It went like this:
Me and Wee Liang were supposed to go to him, 'knock knock' on his door, wait till he welcomes us and we say "Hi, only we 2 came, cuz the rest couldn't make it, they're at Clement's house."
And then the rest would spring out suddenly and try to surprise him.
And he was so freakin blur and disorientated cuz we came too early, to think the others blamed us for spoiling the surprise.... T.T
Played bridge, chess.
Some people played Twister. One looked very sick.

The birthday cake. Sorry for the blur (Mr. Ikhwan's style: did that on purpose~!).

Si Kai was practically taking Kai Tai for a stool. SICK~! -____-
Wasted loads of time, stayed until 4++, omygawd! (could be used for studying)
And anyway, had some great day.
Mrs Ouyang sent us (4E guys) a postcard with her handwritten message. Felt inspired to study and was touched by her caring attitude.
THANK YOU MRS JENNIFER OUYANG~!
And all the best to everyone, study as hard as you can (but don't burst like me) and persevere through this piece of shit. BREAK 10, PEOPLE! LET'S GO~!!!

--> Horse-pee-tell-li-tee (hospitality)
--> Steel (still)
--> Preenz (prints)
--> rad (red)
--> Boomz (Booms) (!)
--> New controversy arise
